If you’ve ever thought about taking up archery, we can offer you a beginner’s course to teach you the basics. All archery clubs require new archers to reach a minimum level of competency before allowing them to shoot in club sessions. Our training courses give you all you need to shoot safely and have fun.

Our next indoor Beginners Course at long Buckby Scout Hut on Wednesday evenings starts on April 22nd. 2020.  For further details of this course please contact our Level 2 Coach (Sylvia Underlin) - telephone 01327 842728 - email: beginners@duston-bowmen.org.uk or message us on our Facebook Page www.facebook.com/dustonbowmen

What’s covered?

The Duston Bowmen Beginners course covers everything you’ll need to start your new sport. You’ll learn:

The Instructors

You will be taught by Archery GB registered coaches at all times. Archery GB is the sport’s governing body and it makes sure that only qualified coaches can teach beginners. Your enjoyment and safety are our key concerns.

Our coaches are:

Graham Underlin, Sylvia Underlin, Dave Birch and Phil Linnell (Level 2 Coaches)

Paul Hunting and Gary Edwards (Level 1 Coaches)

All of our coaches are DBS checked and have attended workshops in "Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Vulnerable Adults".

Each course consists of six sessions lasting approximately 90 minutes each. They are run in the early evenings to allow both adults and juniors to attend.

All the equipment that you need is provided free of charge for the duration of the course.  If you later decide to purchase your own equipment, you’ll get plenty of helpful advice from our coaches to help you get what suits you, not what suits the salesman who is trying to sell it to you.

The cost of the Beginners course is £45

(Please note that, for archery purposes, the term ‘junior’ covers participants who are between 8 years and 18 years of age).
